What's contributing to frost is also contributing to mouse. Plus: a trio of new reports from the Czech Republic: Aleš Kovář, Alma, & Hokus Pokus Wine Fest. And 20 Years of Le Temps des Cérises.
I tasted (and drank) almost all cuvées from A Tortul from 2022: from various grape varieties and all very, very good; no mouse at all, no perceptible volatile with these low alc levels (between 9,5 and 12%!!) and all grapes coming from the Languedoc…. The Languedoc, being a region in…the North? How do you explain that?
A lack of frost has been devastating for wine's best friend, olive oil too. Without frost, the eggs/larve of the olive fruit proliferate. I haven't had a harvest for four years, and it's widespread. EVOO is super expensive everywhere now because of climate change and no winters.
Hello Aaron,

Hope to see you in Corgoloin!
