Fall 2025 Natural Wine Salons
A calendar of upcoming natural wine salons for October and November 2025. Plus: an archive interview with Nadia Verrua of Cascina Tavijn.
I promise the tardiness of this natural wine salon round-up is not, or not entirely, attributable to being overwhelmed in the kitchen at La Cave du Centre. In truth, I got distracted this season after some friends in Monferrato invited me to collaborate on a barrel of nebbiolo.1 Now in addition to my sizable backlog of reports to write on Alsace and the Mâconnais, I have another backlog of reports on Piemonte.
Anyway, the wine salon calendar below covers October and November 2025. Some information is still to-be-confirmed; please check back on the Substack for updates.
Noteworthy salons this season include: Slovenia’s VNDIMA festival, where a Sancerre vigneron who once threatened to send war refugees to break my knees in front of my infant son will pour wines alongside Gut Oggau, PAP Wines, Balint Losonci, and other friends; a third edition of Torino natural wine salon AUGUSTA, which boasts a dazzling line-up of natural wine maestros from France and Italy, and a fourth edition of Strasbourg wine salon PHARE O VINS, organized by David Neilson of Back In Alsace and Jean Walch of Strasbourg wine shop Au Fil du Vin Libre.
I’ll be at this latter salon on Saturday October 18th, signing copies of The World of Natural Wine and pouring my peculiar wines produced from abandoned vineyards.
In the meantime, for subscribers, here’s a bonus report related to recent Piemonte excursions:
An ARCHIVE INTERVIEW with singular Scurzolengo vigneronne NADIA VERRUA, whose collaboration with her parents as Cascina Tavijn has brought simple, paisano winemaking to unprecedented places.
More to come shortly on natural wine in Piemonte. And Alsace, and the Mâconnais, and the Jura. And my own 2024 vintage, which is entirely in bottle as of mid-July. Safe travels for now!
